Paula you are by far the greatest!!! My Mother used to make these for my sisters and I when we were little girls. She called them Brown Sugar Chews!!! Way to cool, what a great person and entertainer you are!!! Everyone make these little chews and enjoy them as they are truely the greatest and easiest desert!! Try them with vanilla ice cream too. This is so easy to do. Not much more work than opening a box mix of something. And the ingredients are always around. We all enjoyed them a lot. I think I would like to add something chocolate-y to it, and of course ice cream. But we ate them as is, as cookie bars, and they were very good.

Anything this good should not be so easy to make. They were GREAT.I thing next time I make them I will make a carmel sauce with a little vanilla ice cream to top them off.But they are so good they can stand on their own. Sherree from Pelzer,S.C.

Great recipe. I would recommend them. The next day they were a little hard. We just put them in the microwave and they were soft again. Super with vanilla ice cream too. Thanks Paula!!

The family loves these, and they're sooo easy to make. I had all the ingredients on hand. The flavor reminds me of butterscotch. Paula rules!!!!

These chewies are so easy to make and I already had the ingredients in the pantry! My kids loved them and they even had pecans in them! My son had watched Paula make these on an episode we were watching and he said "Mom, you have to make those today for me." So I did and he loved them!

They were OK. Don't know if I'll try them again. Maybe with less flour. However, if you like spice cake, I'm sure you'll love these. With the cinnamon and nutmeg, that's what it tasted like.

I made these the same day I saw Paula make them. What struck me was that the ingredients are something that I always have on hand. We had friends coming over that evening with their children and I needed a dessert that was family friendly. I paired these Chewies with French Vanilla ice cream and had a hit on my hands. It was elegant enough to celebrate a friend's birthday yet simple enough that I would make these for an every day type dessert. After cutting them with a sharp knife they came out of the pan easily. I will definately be making them again and trying different flavors of ice cream. They would also be good with fresh whipped cream.

I made them today, they came out all right although they wouldnt cut into perfect squares like they did in Paula's show.
They were very crumbly so the presentation was not what i hoped for.
They taste good but you will definately need ice cream or whipped cream to go with them. Love you Paula and i love your show!
