This dessert was a huge hit. Everything worked out the way it was suppose to except I had to leave the brownie in the oven longer than 25 minutes. I will make this again.

I also used brownie mix instead of her brownie recipe (just ran out of time, but all the rest of the ingredients were the same. I thought the cream was a little too rich, but my family really liked it. Paula used jars in the episode which looked just plain fun so I got jars too. I assembled each little dessert and then chilled them during dinner. When it was time for dessert I got out my tray of jars and handed them around to each of our guests and made them unscrew the lids themselves. For some reason the presentation seems to make a difference than if you just serve on a plate.

This was very good, but i did buy a box of brownie mix to make it easier but assembled it with all the rest of the stuff and it turned out great, What i do with my brownie mix is add a little cocoa powder and choc chips to it before baking- will make again

I rewatched the show - 2 1/2 cups of sugar is right and yes, self-rising flour. Going out to get the ingredients now - will update once it's done! :

Didnt't Paula use self-rising flour when her and Jamie prepared the brownies on TV?

The first time I made this, last week, I put the 2-1/2 cups of sugar in, and the batter clumped almost instantly. We thought we remembered the recipe on the show calling for ONE-1/2 cups of sugar. NOT 2. I baked it anyway, and it wasn't bad, but the texture wasn't quite right. Two days later, it was like a rock. We tried it again today, and it's perfect. We made it with ONE AND A HALF cups of sugar and baked it for 40 minutes. YUM!

And yes, Paula assembled it in little individual jelly jars, putting small squares of brownie in the bottom, and then spooning in the raspberry jam, bananas, and whipped cream mixture.

Put it in the oven for 40-45 mins, try poking it with toothpick, you don't want a clean come out, a little batter sticking means it is still mushy and gooey on the inside while top is crunchy, then its perfect!
