This was a very tasty way of preparing brussel sprouts. I substituted shallot for the onion. Janice

I'm trying to lose a few lbs but I just can't eat diet food so I decided to lighten this recipe up. I first cooked 4 slices of turkey bacon. After removing, I added 1 tablespoon of duck fat. Sauteed the onions, added the sprouts and coated them well before adding the low sodium broth. I let this cook a while before adding a whole bulb of grill roasted garlic. After about 5 more minutes I add just 1 tablespoon of butter and a little drizzle of walnut oil. Finally garnished with the bacon in pieces. It was scrumptious. Really want to try it as written, but even Paula is cutting back. She looks great! You can lighten any recipe without feeling deprived and successfully lose or maintain your weight. Thanks for this one, it is a definite keeper.

These were the best Brussels sprouts I have ever eaten. Im really not a fan of them, but had a taste for them. I used the recipe as is except I cut the sprouts in half. You can barely even taste that sprout taste.

I served these sprouts to my Christmas dinner guests and they raved about them. Even the ones that consider brussel sprouts "martian brains"! Thanks Paula for helping complete my Christmas meal.

Paula you did it again! As I was cooking the brussel sprouts my husband said to me, I Don't like brussel sprouts! Well your recipe was a big hit. He ate those words very quickly. He and every one else at dinner for thanksgiving said you have to make these again. Thanks Paula!

I made this last year for Thanksgiving, and people loved it so much they were asking for it again this year. It takes all the bitterness out of the brussel sprouts and is a great vegetable side dish for the Thanksgiving meal. Its currently a staple at our house.
