When Paula & Bubba dug into this pie at the end of the show, I thought, wow I want to do that too; it looks fantastic. I went to the grocery and made it myself. I was not dissapointed. It was creamy, tart and very delicious.

This may be a good pie however living in Key West, FL, I'm really fussy about what is called Key Lime Pie. I have never heard of adding almonds to the crust. No wonder Paula had problems cutting it. The read problem I had was adding regular lime zest to both the filling and the topping. KEY LIMES ARE NOT GREEN! If she didn't have real key limes she should have not added a poor substitute. The only thing she did right was to refrain from adding green food coloring (This happened in, of all places, the Queen's Grill on the QE2.

A real hit with my family and friends. I even servced this at a sit down dinner. I used large goblets. After baking the crust, I re-pressed the crust in the glasses and filled with the key lime filling,decorated and refrigerated. They were gorgeous and a huge hit!

This pie was a great dessert and a nice treat for my husband and me. The only problem I had was that I couldn't get my egg whites to fluff when I used the cream of tartar, but I left it out the second time and it worked perfectly. I'll definitely make this pie again.

This pie was great. Very tasty. I would definetly add 3 egg whites to the meringe to make it taller. Also, crust was a little crumbly while serving so I think I need to add a little more butter to hold it together. Other than that, it was delicious. A note: Use key limes if at all possible. Regular limes will give it a different flavor.

The concensus on this pie was that everyone loved the crust, some disliked the meringue (they don't like any meringue, and we all thought the pie filling could be a little creamier. If I make this pie again, I plan to top it with sweetened whipped cream, which will likely please the meringue haters.
