I was so ecited to try this recipe. My kids helped me prepare it. It was good and good, though the batter was thin and needed a little kick of some kind. A bit messy to prepare as well, no matter how careful you are. But it's a great dish to prepare on ocassions.

The process was very easy. However, the batter was thin and didn't stick to the onion very well. The batter could have used some additional flavor, more cajun seasoning??? It was easy to prepare the onion and get the desired shape and I used a friend's frying machine to do the work. I found a recipe for a spicer dipping sauce, ranch dressing didn't appeal to me as a dipping sauce. Don't think it was worth the time and effort to try again.
