Its best as soon as you make it. Instead of making a hole with a cookie cutter , I just poked a hole in the middle with my finger and stretched it a little bit to make it look like a doughnut . I just used the sugar glaze and it was so good. I could not stop eating these. Really quick and delicious when you get a sugar attack. Thanks paula for the wonderful recipes.

Thanks for the memories Paula. I used to make these for my daughter who in turn made them for her children. They are now adults and they carry on the tradition and make them for themselves still as they have no kids of their own yet. I myself prefer them with cinnamon and sugar. Thanks again.

The only thing I did different was using canola oil because I didn't have any peanut oil. Tasted great to me and the 11 year old! Yum!

My kids make doughnuts with me about once every 2-3 months. Sometimes I just don't feel like getting up early to make the yeast dough to rise, etc. So when I saw the great reviews for refrigerator biscuits turned into doughnuts in a fraction of the time, I thought I'd try it. The kids loved the doughnuts. They were light and fluffy. I changed the chocolate glaze to use Alton Brown's version. Another hit. I'd love to be able to make these without having to rely on refrigerator dough, since there are all kinds of creepy additives in those things. But, for a quick doughnut recipe, this was a slam dunk!

These donuts were scrumptious, and dead easy to make. What's easier than canned biscuit dough and hot oil? I did notice that they lost most of their tender appeal after sitting a few hours, but hardly any were left by then anyway.

Note: the glaze is thin and almost disappears on the donuts after being applied. It also makes much more glaze than is needed. I'll make these donuts again, but just top with Nutella for a nicer visual effect.
