This was a wonderful fairly easy recipe. I would agree that the crust is a little to thick and there could be more cheesecake filling. I will make those adjustments next time. I didn't add caramel but they were still wonderful!

I made this for a Ladies' Fellowship at church for our apple contest and won. It was easy to make and so good, it was gone the next day!!! Many people have asked me for the recipe. I will definitely be making this again.

I just made this tonight because I was looking for a good way to use some apples I had purchased. I absolutely LOVED this recipe! I followed it exactly and it turned out fabulous. I did add the juice from one lemon to the cream cheese mixture and it gave it that extra kick. Everyone, even my little brother who doesn't care for cheesecake loved it. I do not agree with previous reviewers that the crust was too thick.. mine was about 1/4 inch and I don't think that the suggested graham cracker crust would've been appropriate.

This is a very good recipe but I had to make some alterations. The first time I made this there was too much crust in my opinion and not enough filling. I cut the crust recipe in half and added an extra package of cream cheese along with an extra egg. Also I cooked the apples in a little bit of butter with sugar and the mentioned seasonings and then mixed it into the filling mixture. Oh so yummy. All in all this is a great recipe to use as a base and tweak to your liking. Next time I am going to try some blueberries mixed in. Paula your recipes are always awesome!!!

I've made this for them before and they said it is the best! I dont even know how many copies I had to print for people. Try this it's easy and everyone will love it.

I have made this recipe for about two years now. A real WINNER! I have taken it to many parties and it flies out of the pan. I have substituted the apples with peaches and blueberries. When I substitute with blueberries I add lemon flavoring (Penzey's Spice Shop sells powdered lemon rind that works wonderfully to the cream cheese filling. If I am making the apple or peach filling, I like to simmer them on the stove for about half an hour. When simmering, I add two tablespoons sugar, two tablespoons water, and 1/2 a tsp. cinnamon, allspice, and cloves. I like the more apple pie/peach cobbler feeling to the dish. Last but not least, this recipe can be easily cut in half and put in a 8x8 pan if you don't want as much, or have a smaller family. This is worth the effort!

The crust seemed very heavy. I used a basic graham cracker crust. I also cut the steusel topping by about 1/3 and it was more than enough. I had the carmel topping but no one used it because the cheesecake was so good just the way it was. I will definitely make this again.
