When i madfe this last year for Thanksgiving it was a big hit!! My sister was pregnant so i had choose between a few recipes and she picked this one and loved. This year my niece will be able to eat the cheesecake part and we are looking forward to it.

This is fantastic! I agree foil is not necessary. I also agree having more cheescake filling would balance it better but love the topping. I added cloves and extra cinnamon to apples. I also added cinnamon to topping. Maybe try using smaller pan and less topping. Topping freezes really well I always make extra and have it on hand for apple crisp.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this dessert, including myself. I would also remove the foil, as it was cumbersome when trying to cut them. I also think that it would be good with walnuts in the streusel topping!

This was delicious, but I agree with other reviews that there was to much streusel on top. Also, I'm not sure why the recipe calls for the baking pan to be lined with foil because if you watch the video of Paula making this dish, she doesn't use the foil. I will probably make this again, but I would make a couple of changes.

I make these bars regularly and everyone always loves them. I first followed the recipe exactly and they were perfectly delicious. However, since I love to tailor recipes to my preferences after trying them out, here is what I've tried and how I liked the result: I like the taste of adding 1 tsp of cinnamon to the crust portion. I have increased the cheesecake portion and I like the result from using 1.5 times the amount while my husband loves the amount of cheesecake when it's doubled. The caramel topping can be optional as well. There were a few times I didn't have the ingredients for it so I skipped it and still enjoyed the bars alone. Lastly, I have used other types of apples--Gala and Pink Lady--and the bars still taste great. I personally love the use of the Granny Smith's best, as Paula suggested. No matter what you use, you will probably not regret making these. :

Thought it was yummy, next time I make it I would up the cheesecake part also ...... I think it may have been even better with a graham cracker crust so I may change that next time as well.

Delish ! I upped the cheesecake part, did 1.5 times the original amount. Has anyone tried to freeze these? I would like to freeze them, defrost then add the streusel caramel topping/

These are amazing! If you are not a huge cheesecake person, I found that the "cheesecake" is not overwhelming. A perfect fall treat!

I made this dessert to take to a Housewarming Party. It was a great success and I received many compliments that should go to Paula! One trick I used was to refrigerate it and once chilled, it cut like a dream when I sprayed cooking spray on the knife. I've had trouble before making a lovely dessert and then messing it up when trying to cut it.

This recipe was easy to make and delicious. I made it for a potluck at work. It's definitely too decadent to make as a treat to munch on around the house. I did end up cooking it about 40 minutes instead of 30. I wish I had doubled the cheesecake batter as well, since it got a little lost in all the crumble. Regardless, it got great reviews from my coworkers!
