This was a very cute part of the Halloween goodies at a party I attended. I made a mistake and mixed ALL of the cream cheese together, but it turned out fine anyway. However, next time I will be more careful to note that the whipped cream cheese doesn't go into the cheese mixture -- you "frost" the cheese ball with the whipped cream cheese! You DO NOT need 3 cups of red cabbage, FYI. Your goblin will turn into a Hippie Goblin if you use that much! Overall, a fun, cute and yummy addition to the Halloween festivities

Paula, thanks for this recipe! I have been making this every year for about 5 years and everyone has always been impressed and enjoyed it. I switch the cheeses every year depending on who my audience is and usually end up changing the face a little - this year I left the carrot mouth pieces at home and had to improvise. I used cut up olives instead and I really liked the effect.

Winner! I made this dip for a neighborhood Halloween party and it was a hit. I do recommend adding dry Ranch dressing mix to the cream cheese.

My guests loved the presentation and taste of this cute little creature. I made a couple of little changes. I added finely chopped basil and chives to the cream cheese and less of the whipped cream cheese. Make the cheese mixture as suggested and prepared the veggies, so all I had to do the next day was to create its features. I think I will have to make this a tradition for Halloween!

I made this for Halloween and everybody raved about it. They couldn't quit talking about how neat he was. They ate the cheese from the back because they didn't want to mess up the goblin. It was the hit of the party!

I made this yesterday for the first time and got my husband to decorate him. It was so cute! I also successfully lightened up the recipe (I don't know - is it sacrilege to lighten a Paula Deen recipe? by replacing one of the 8-oz packs of cream cheese in the middle with an 8-oz pack of fat free cheese and one of the tubs of whipped cream cheeses on the outside with a lite one. Additionally, I switched in margarine for the butter and omitted the milk. I wasn't sure if it would set up well with the lower fat cream cheese, but it was fine, and I think a little more spreadable, which made it easier to eat.

This was fantastic! I made the outer layer with food coloring. The inner layer I used horseradish cream cheese with Capers added. Used the capers to make "warts" on the goblin face too.

I made this last year for a haloween party and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved it, and praised me for being so creative. Of course, I had to give credit to Paula. I could have never thought this up on my own. :
