I made this yesterday for the first time and got my husband to decorate him. It was so cute! I also successfully lightened up the recipe (I don't know - is it sacrilege to lighten a Paula Deen recipe? by replacing one of the 8-oz packs of cream cheese in the middle with an 8-oz pack of fat free cheese and one of the tubs of whipped cream cheeses on the outside with a lite one. Additionally, I switched in margarine for the butter and omitted the milk. I wasn't sure if it would set up well with the lower fat cream cheese, but it was fine, and I think a little more spreadable, which made it easier to eat.

This was fantastic! I made the outer layer with food coloring. The inner layer I used horseradish cream cheese with Capers added. Used the capers to make "warts" on the goblin face too.

I made this last year for a haloween party and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved it, and praised me for being so creative. Of course, I had to give credit to Paula. I could have never thought this up on my own. :

super fun to make and easy : I followed a few readers advice and added the dry ranch packet which was a hit! I also added food coloring to the top layer skin and people were a little uneasy with the green color until I explained that it was only food coloring : will make it again!

I took the advice of a fellow commenter and added a packet of dry ranch dressing -- my crowd likes a little zing. I had a hard time not devouring it before it was done!! We will make a Santa out of it for Christmas Eve this year, too. Thanks, Food Network!

I loved this recipe. It was easy to assembly and made a great presentation. The changes I made were: substituting black olives for green (preference and omitting the colored tortilla ears (instead I used the top of the red pepper that curls around like an ear. The only problem I had was getting people to cut into the cheese ball. I finally did it myself, and then people readily helped themselves and raved about it.

My family loved this cheeseball recipe! Although, I added a packet of dry ranch dressing mix, and a splash of italian dressing to make it even tastier. You could also add Lipton's French Onion Soup mix, that would be really good!
