Excellent! I didn't have shortening, so I used unsalted butter. The biscuits were absolutely delicious. The picture posted doesn't do these biscuits any justice.

These biscuits are really delicious and this particular photo does them No justice! I bake the biscuits for about 15 mins, depending on the size, before brushing the tops with melted butter, to which I add dried parsley and about ¼ teaspoon of garlic power. Then I pop them back in for a minute or two more to get them nice and brown. I also add about ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder to the batter before baking. Simple and tasty! They quickly became a staple at many a Sunday dinner.

This recipe was good! i ended up adding some garlic seasoning to add a little more flavor to it but other wise it was very moist & cheesy. I have baked this twice already...family is comparing the biscuits to "Red Losters" famous cheese biscuits. Way to go Paula!!
