I thought this dish was very simple to make and accompanied a steak dinner so it was light and went well with a heavy meat. The only thing I would add more of is salt but all in all I thought it was delightful. The 3 Gourmet Girls that meet once a month and critique a new recipe that we bring all enjoyed it too.

I made this dish but like an idiot, I put in uncooked noodles! I added more milk and a little water so the noodles cooked while it baked. It was still ok. I will give it another try and do it the right way. It wasn't quite as cheesy as I thought it should be.

None of us thought this dish tasted as good as is looked. I did take some of the other reviewers' advice and browned my onions in a little olive oil since I don't like the taste the raw onion without some caramelization. I wish I had followed another suggestion to mix the Parmesan in with the other ingredients and top the casserole with another type of cheese shortly before the end of baking. As it is, you don't get the flavor of the Parmesan in the actual casserole and when you do get to the crusty topping, it is too overpowering by itself.

Like many of the viewers, I found the recipe good but missing something. I've played with it many ways, from adding pease or mushrooms, even chicken and corn. I've add some different spices as well. I think it's a good recipe for a foundation for the individual cook to add their touch to. Be creative and enjoy.
