I begrudgingly made this for Christmas dinner knowing that I did not like Broccoli and neither did one of my guests. I ate it loved it and the guest tried it.....then went back for seconds......they were over for New Years and he requested the receipe....Great Flavor...I added extra Waterchestnuts for crunchy texture. OUTSTANDING flavor...Thanks Paula!!! Just became a family favorite - even with my kids!

This is a fantastic recipe, the only thing that I changed was switching cream of mushroom soup with clam chowder, makes for a more interesting flavor.

The recipe was great but i added a few tweaks to make it even better! I did not add the water chestnuts because my family dosent like them, and I did not add grated cheese to the top , instead I used crunched up ritz crackers as the topping. It came out great and there were NO leftovers!

Made this last night with her mushroom rice and chicken. It was sooooo good! I loved every mouthful. It wasn't overly cheesy. You could still taste the broccoli and yet it was creamy and wonderful. My family loved it. Paula I loved you always, but you are fast becoming a favorite.

Bump this recipe up a star! Great work Paula! I make my holiday meals as memorable as possible. There was a lot of mmmmmmms going on when my very large family tasted this side dish on Thanksgiving. Cheesy broccoli bake will make many repeat performances for our gang.

We thought this was really tasty, and easy to make. I did the whole process in my Calphalon steamer, so it was a one pan process for me, with the exception of the casserole dish. I steamed the broccoli for only FIVE minutes and then shocked in cold water. Dumped out the hot water/steamer basket, sauted the veggies, drained, put in a bowl, and then did the cheese mixture in the same pot. Mixed everything in with the cheese, and poured into a casserole dish. The broccoli turned out perfect, not the least bit mushy, and still somewhat on the crisp side. I mixed it gently again after baking, and served in a pretty white bowl. (This recipe does not need any additional salt other then the garlic salt called for
Whoola, very tasty, and easy clean-up.
