For anyone unfortunate enough to not have access to a grill, but lucky to be near a Trader Joes... Use their low sodium broth, cream, and their roasted frozen corn. Perfect! Based on other reviews, I also put into one batch some grilled chicken, roasted peppers, cajun seasoning, and tortilla strips when served. Very versitile recipe, I've replaced corn with roasted mushrooms for a creamy mushroom soup.

Absolutely DELICIOUS!! Hearty enough to be served as a main dish served with bakery bread or in a bread bowl, but would make a fantastic side dish as well. Definitely a new staple in my household!!!

My apartment is not heated, so I thought corn chowder would be the perfect way to warm up! I thought this recipe was great! I poached a whole roaster chicken and shredded the pieces into the chowder. It worked great! I'll definitely make this again.

It was good, but too creamy for my taste. Next time I'll put less half and half and add potatoes. I also didn't use all the butter, just 1/4 of a cup.

This was very good. Left the onions and garlic out (I'm allergic and replaced with bell pepper and jalapeno. Didn't use the last stick of butter either. Very good and very filling. We'll be making this again.

This chowder was OUTSTANDING. I incorporated suggestions from others, including omitting the 2nd stick of butter and using whole milk instead of half & half. Neither were missed. I will definitely make this again.

I have been making this recipe for over a year now. There is only one word to describe it... AMAZING!! I have some dietary restrictions and tweaked this recipe slightly. Let me tell you, you would never know! Instead of the WHITE flour, I used WHOLE WHEAT flour! Instead of the cream, I used fat-free half and half. As other have posted, I did not use the last stick of butter at the end as it does not need it. Instead of using regular butter, I used the Land O Lakes Butter with Olive Oil. I have made this recipe the way Paula has made it and decided to give this version a try. Saves tons of calories and is delicious! Thanks Paula for a great recipe.

I absolutely LOVE this recipe. I have been making if for years now. I do do something a little different though, I add 2-3 russet potatoes (chopped the same size as the carrots and celery to the veggie mixture and just add a little more liquid and butter. I also do not add a stick of butter at the end.

Soooooooooo delicious! One of my favorite rainy-night comfort foods. Extra stick of butter at the end is NOT NECCESSARY...doesn't even make sense...and I LOVE butter.
