This recipe was easy and wonderful.
I am from Louisiana and this was my first time fixing chicken and dumplings without a roux.
My family was pleased and so was I!!
    Thanks Paula

I had last minute company and saw Paula whip this up earlier in the day. I decided to try it for myself. The dumplings were so good and simple. I used frozen chicken tenders. I preferred a boned chicken, but had to use what was on hand. I fed 7 adults and they LOVED it!

This one tastes like my Grandmother made, with one exception, I thickened up the gravy and even my boyfriend (who thought that he disliked chicken and dumplings lapped it up and enjoyed seconds. I also skinned the chicken before adding back to the pot as a matter of personal preference. Another great Paula recipe.

I followed the dumpling part of the recipe exactly but for some reason wound up having to cook them for almost 30 minutes at a full boil before they lost their rubbery "old tire" texture. 3-4 minutes? No way. I watched her make this recipe on the show today and she even said to cook the dumplings at least 10 minutes. And I agree with whoever said 4 qts of water is too much--next time I'm taking it down to no more than 3 and adding a little more house seasoning. After draining off the extra water/broth and adding one extra boullion cube, salt and pepper it tasted great.

I never had Chicken & Dumplings growing up but my husband did. So I've tried many recipes but none of them suited him. Until this one! Yeah!! P.S. I enjoyed it too!

This was delicious! I did add some carrots and thicken it a little before adding the dumplings. Some of the other reviews said these were noodles, not dumplings, but I think it depends on what part of the country you're from. To my family, a boxed biscuit mix is not a dumpling, it's a biscuit.

This chicken and Dumplings reminded me of the south when I was little and living in Georgia with my Dad, he would make the best Chicken and Dumplings and I have never found a recipe that could test just as good as my dad's.

Easy to make and so good! Make dumplings small, as they expand when cooked.
