This is one of the best to take to a church dinner, or any pot luck for that matter. I took it resently to a dinner at church and it was a big hit. Thanks Paula you are my hero.

I used Perdue Short Cuts, which were just great. I was missing some ingredients, so I substituted 1c. each mayo and sour cream for the soup. I added fresh broccoli, instead of canned beans -- after cooking with the onion to soften a bit. I didn't have water chestnuts, either, but I didn't miss them! Great casserole!

This is such a good casserole. The crunch from the water chestnuts adds that little something special. Makes great leftovers too.

This recipe was easy and quick to make. It was very filling and good. But I would use less water chesnuts.

This was a great recipe. I had to substitute cream chees (half a brick for the cheddar because it was all I had. It tasted great! I will make it again. My husband and daughter (3years loved it!

The Baby loved it, my husband loved it, and so did my 10 year old son. The pimentos add great color and a touch of taste. The water chesnuts add crunch to keep it from being another mushy casserole. I expected it to be good to ok but got a great rating from my family instead.

I'll be adding this to my collection of "comfort foods"! I must admit, I had my doubts while mixing all the ingredients together; didn't look too good. But the end result was fabulous; everyone loved it! (I did cut the mayo down to 3/4 cup per recommendations, and added a little grated cheese on top.
