It is healthy and good to eat...I think I might add more cream of celery and nix the may. I also skipped the pimentos and chestnuts

Paula normaly I will make youre recipe just like you say, but this one I changed just a little, I reduced it to one can of green bean's but I added two cups of chopped broccolie and added one cup of long grain white rice (cooked and then I topped it with cheese and potato chips, oh and I used leftover roasted chicken from the night before. This is a recipe I will write down for my kids, and don't worry I will tell them it is from the best their is Paula Deen (oh and Dad too LOL

My family loved this one!!! They requested I add this to my "favorite category" of recipes. I altered by leaving out the pimentos and water chestnuts and only used 1/4 cup of mayo. I crushed Ritz crackers on top for an added crunch. Yum!

This was great! But, next time I won't use the water chestnuts... mushrooms would have been a great substitute. Overall, easy and light if you use fat free mayo and cheese

I used mushrooms and red peppers instead of water chestnuts & pimentos because my hubby doesn't like those. We love it! I'm gonna try broccoli next time in place of green beans. We love Paula Dean!

I'm always looking for an easy make-ahead meal because I have a two small kids, and, a busy husband. I heard about this casserole and decided to give it a try. It's assembled and waiting in the refrigerator to be baked off later today. I sampled it, and WOW, it's yummy. FIRST- make this AS IS the first time! I used a rotisserie chicken, picked and cubed. I used everything else on the list, but omitted the pimento for personal taste. Instead of canned green beans, I steamed some fresh ones. And I used a "Rice Select" brand white/brown/red/wild blend that I prepared in my rice cooker this morning while my kids ate breakfast. Can't wait to bake this and serve it up! Maybe this can be a nice template for using leftovers. I think using a tasty good quality rice is key. I might try it with sauteed mushrooms and cream of chicken or mushroom soup, too. And, it's not bland. I only added 1/2 tsp salt to my rice. Make it as-is!!!

I loved this recipe, it was easy and a great dish to make ahead of time on those crazy nights. I switched it up a bit. Instead of green beans and water-chestnuts, I substituted broccoli and red peppers plus I used cream of chicken soup. The red peppers added a lot of color and made it look very pretty. My family loved it! My husband cleaned his plate before I even sat down!! He actually ate all of the vegetables - that never happens!! This will become a staple in our house during the school year.
