Easy to make, tastes great and will feed you for days. It's one of those meals that actually tastes better the next day. You can also try a lot of new or different things to the recipe.

This is an incredible recipe - real southern "comfort food". I've made my own version of "chicken and rice" for years - the sausage was a great addition. I also used just chicken breasts since we don't like dark meat - and it turned out great. However - any recipe I need to make modifications to can't get 5-stars. This needed more salt - and had too much rice for the meat quantity. My husband is a meat man - in his opinion - any dish that has smoked sausage should have AT LEAST one bite of sausage in each spoonful. So I'll add far more sausage next time. I will also add celery. My own chicken and rice recipe has celery as one of the primary ingredients and I really missed it in this recipe. But overall, it is a top-notch recipe - if you're willing to make a few modifications for your own taste.

I don't see how anyone can say this recipe comes out bland. Huh?
The rice soaks up all that sausage flavor and flavor from the spices. I've used bone-in and also boneless skinless chicken (if I'm in a bit more of a hurry.
It makes plenty for days of leftovers if you don't have a big family. I'm not a southerner and have never had "bog" before. This had a unique flavor and I will make it again and again.

I loved this recipe. I used boneless chicken breast for less mess. It was a little salty, so I would use less house seasoning next time.

After I read the recipe I thought I'd give it a try and I am so glad I did! It got rave reviews from my family and, most importantly, it got the Kyle seal of approval - my 2-year-old son really enjoyed it. Be warned - there is NOTHING low fat about this dish so I would make this just every so often but oooooh, it is delicious!
