I used jalepeno smoked sausage to add some heat & it turned out fabulous. I easily fed hungry 5 adults (most going back for seconds! with enough for my husband & I to have left overs the next night! The rice cooks up creamy like risotto would & the flavors meld beautifully. Great cold weather grub. Please, please, please take my advice & also try Paula's "Grillades and Grits" recipe, you'll be a cooking legend in everyone's mind! It is fantastic!!!

This dish is delicious. Sounds a little bland at first, but the flavor is outstanding. The fresh chicken stock, spiked up by the sausage and seasonings, is a perfect mix with the rice. I've made this over and over. Makes a lot, but left-overs are just as good. I've even been known to steal a few spoonfuls cold out of the fridge.

This is one of those recipes that makes the house smell great! Very easy to prepare and everybody I have served it to asks for the recipe. I make it often, and it is just as good leftover as it is the first time.

We didn't care for this recipe. There wasn't much about this that stood out and made us want to have it again.

I've made this twice now, and everyone I've served it to has enjoyed it. On the show Paula served it with chopped cucumber, onions and tomatoes with a bottle of hot sauce nearby. These additions make it absolutely wonderful. Both times I've made it with beef Kelbasa(sp?. Next time I may try a breakfast or Italian sausage. It makes an enormous amount of food. I cut the recipe in half and fed seven people generously.

This chicken bog definitely warms the soul. It is easy and inexpensive--we will be eating leftovers for days. I really liked the creaminess of the rice. It was a bit bland, even with hot sauce and red pepper flakes added, but was good wintery day food. I think adding chicken stock instead of water may add some flavor.
