This stew was really good, although I don't know about the BBQ sauce being put it. It may be a little too sweet for my taste. You just have to eat rice or bread with it.

This was very tasty and very easy to make. I did find it to be a little on the sweet side, though.

This is so delicious! I altered the recipe just a bit by leaving out the 1/3 cup sugar w/the tomatoes, and reducing the catsup to 1/2 cup....it had just the right touch of sweetness. (My homemade bar-b-que sauce is made with brown sugar, so that was sweetness enough. This recipe makes a lot, especially for two people, but the left-overs are making for great lunches! Keeps getting better and better! A KEEPER!!!

Hubby saw Paul make this on TV and went to the computer to copy it down. I looked at it and said "YUK". It didn't sound good to me at all. All the while we were preparing it I wasn't enthused, feeling I was wasting a bunch of good ingredients (chicken and tomato base has never been a favorite of mine. But WOW!!! What a huge surprise. It's FANTASTIC!!! My 89 year old dad loved it too!! We kept it on low most of the afternoon and the flavors worked together beautifully! Can't say enough about this recipe!!!!

While reading some of the reviews I noticed some of the people here complained about the use of sugar\ catsup and bbq sauce.... In truth this recipe is very close to the original one use years ago during the depression era. It would stretch along ways, feed several and generally some leftovers at a low cost (during those times Paula done a quick version of an old time classic and well needed dish during the depression era. Brought back memories to me of my mother making something she had to live through, thanks Paula for the memories, as well as the rib sticken' eats....

This dish was easy to prepare, and very tasty. I used left over chicken and added lima beans and about a cup of diced potatoes. Add also added some canned chicken broth to thin it out a little. Next time I will cut back on the sugar and BBQ sauce just a bit. Overall, this was delicious and I'll definitely prepare it again! Thanks Paula!

This was a wonderful homey stew. I didn't add any extra sugar and it turned out fine.

This is so good and so easy to prepare. I did change a few things....I only used a half cup of ketchup and a little more bbq sauce than was called for. I also omitted the sugar all together, and it was still fantastic. I personally see no reason to add sugar to this recipe, the ketchup and other flavors blend really well w/out it. I will be making this one again!
