I read the comments, as I do before I prepare a recipe, and used the suggestions, i.e. marinate in soy sauce and sesame oil, use stir fry veggi package, add more soy and sesame oil and used fresh ginger...... My family LOVED it!!! Every Sunday we have theme dinners. Today was Asian so I made homemade shrimp fried rice with it.... DELICIOUS! Thanks Paula!

We substituted plum sauce for the hoisin and the meal came out great.

None of my family liked this at all. I think it has either too much hoisin sauce or too much ginger. I cook asian often enough and was very disappointed in Paula's version. Usually, my family likes what I deliver so it was embarassing.

This recipe was very good but the sauce was a little thick for my husband and me. Next time, I'll not add as much cornstarch. It had very good flavor but we both really like the taste of hoisin sauce. Good job, Paula!!

I made this recipe last night... It was good but it need a little bit soy sauce, salt and ground black pepper, also added 1/2 tsp. of red pepper flakes. I used the Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce which was good. Also, used fresh ginger a half teaspoon. And I added another 1 tbs. of sesame oil then simmer for a minute. Will make this again. Thanks Paula!

It was good but on the salty side for my palate despite using low sodium chicken broth. I'd forgo the soy sauce next time and use less broth replacing it with water. asian food should bask in the melee of flavors not salt.

Food netork did the recipe totally different on here, then in her magazine. They added orange juice and a few other things. There was zero onio, or th horio sauce. I used half the amoung of ginger, and Nappa Cabage. It was FANTASIC. If they had written it the same on here I would give it a hundred stars if possible!

    Thank you PAULA!

I made this recipe and it was very easy and good...I added bamboo shoots to the recipe and omitted the carrots (my husband doesnt like carrots...I had to add extra soy sauce for the tast but it was very good and I used regular all purpose flour instead of the cornstarch (only because I didnt have any...it was great with rice and everyone loved it...would definitely make again.

My boyfriend and I both loved this dish! I could not find hoisin sauce, but was able to find a recipe to make it homemade, and it was super simple and a great addition to the recipe!
