I was very excited about trying this recipe, but it did not turn out like I had expected. I don't know if this is normal but the ricotta cheese gave the pie filling a very gritty texture. I couldn't even choke it down. We had to throw the whole pie out. It would had been delicious other than that.

wonderful recipe! very chocolatey, love the bananas! I like to put them in mini pie shells and serve them individually.

When I made this recipe, the flavors just weren't right. It wasn't that sweet, which is fine, but unexpected. But even with more sugar, I wouldn't make this recipe again. My boyfriend who normally will eat anything I make (he was raised in a household that just didn't waste food even though his mom wasn't a great cook wouldn't finish his piece, and we threw out the rest of the pie.
I can't quite put my finger on what wasn't right with this recipe. I do wonder about the cheeses as the base and how that worked with the chocolate. Perhaps more vanilla would have also helped.

The recipie was so easy to follow, i made this for diner with my sister and it only took about five minutes to make the mix. instead of the mini pie shells, we just used martini glasses and and crushed up some graham crackers for the bottom, then garnished it with more graham cracker crumbs. Next time we'll rim the glasses with graham crackers as well for garnish. Absolutely loved this recipie! Thank you so much paula!

I just made this, for one of my Thanksgiving desserts, but I threw it away!! I am really hoping there is just a mistake in the ingredients.I really think the amount of cocoa is wrong. Way too much, compared to the amount of sugar. The texture is awful, kind of gritty. I tried adding more cream cheese, even tried adding cool whip.Didnt help. Cant even taste the banana.I was very disappointed :( I wouldnt recommend it.If you really want to try it, I would put less cocoa powder in and keep tasting it. Something just isnt right.

Made this for my wife's birthday....everyone liked it well enough...but...it was just too rich. 4 or so bites was all anyone wanted.

Paula, you're my favorite!!!
However this recipe didn't meeet your usual high standards! I agree with those who felt that it was bitter and had a texture issue which was not pleasant to the palate. I also threw my pie away after one taste.
Oh well.....one in a million ain't bad!

Delicious, although I agree with other reviews that it is a little heavy. I used Hershey's cocoa.

disappointed with recipe outcome in the taste department. The overall flavor was a let down. It wasn't great and that is the result we shoot for in desserts. Next!

Paula I love you but something must be wrong with this recipe. It was so bad I couldn't choke down one bite. Incredibly bitter and grainy. Don't make this recipe. You will be sorely disappointed. Maybe there is a misprint and it should have read sweetened cocoa and less of it. Not sure.
