I tried this recipe out and like everyone else is saying it has a bitter taste. I agree that the recipe needs to have sweetened cocoa and I would probably only put 1/4th a cup of the cocoa and try it that way before adding the rest. Putting unsweetened cocoa is going to give you a brown glob of goo that no one will want to eat.
Also don't forget to let your cream cheese hit room temperature to help be smooth when you mixt it up.

This must have been an April Fool's joke (that was the day the show aired... The flavor was not pleasant, the pie did not set up, just terrible. A waste of expensive ingredients. Not at all Paula's style, we were very disappointed.

Made this the day after I watched Paula make it. After a bite of it, I couldn't believe she would say how delicious it was! I knew I didn't like it due to the gritty texture and strange taste, but I thought for sure my husband would eat it, he is a sweet a holic. But no, he ate one piece and said he wasn't going to eat any more. So...for the first time ever, I put a Paula recipe down the disposal. Don't know what happened with this one.

i tried this and it turned out gritty, and i did add the cocoa slowly. i wonder if it was supposed to be sour cream instead of ricotta cheese? my kids would not eat it. very odd texture.

The pie was not very sweet. I think that the cocoa was overbearing. Maybe the cocoa was supposed to be sweetened? You could not taste the bananas. Family would not eat.
