I made it for both sides of the family celebrations at Christmas and was told it was "a keeper". Absolutely yummy and easy! The Bailey's cream sauce is a bonus!

I made this in the morning and then threw it into the oven after dinner came out. It makes plenty. Make sure you use Paula Deans Irish Cream sause! Devine!

It was great! I left out the almond extract entirely, and only added a few chocolate chips and it was great.

Had to cook this the same day I saw it and I wasn't disappointed. I whipped up some fresh cream and added to the top. Perfect for a cold winter evening while watching reruns of SVU.

I'm a diehard chocoholic and professional baker, and anytime I see a recipe for chocolate bread pudding, I jump on it. This was better than great! For all of those who don't like almond extract, leave it out and add extra vanilla. If you don't want extra vanilla, leave it out. If coffee liqeur isn't liked, try chocolate liqeur, or rum, or rum extract. If cinnamon isn't liked, leave it out! Leaving some flavor out or substituting something won't kill a recipe as long as it compliments the main flavor, chocolate in this case. I've tried this with challah or brioche bread and it'a fantastic, and much richer than usual. This makes a LOT of pudding, so if your family is smaller, I suggest cutting the recipe in half...unless it's a fellow chocoholic I'm typing to.
If you use pecans, try toasting them lightly in a dry pan for 5 minutes on the stove before adding.

I have read the reviews on this recipe about there being to much Almond extract so i reread the recipe, it calls for 1t not 2T's as somw said. Unless food net changed the it after all the reviews i see no reason as yet to change. My husband was watching with me yesterday, and as the family chocolate nut, he told me to print out and try this one. have tried several of Paula's recipes and and loved them all.
