It just doesn't get any better than this recipe. I think what I enjoyed the most was watching the reaction of my friends as they took their first bite. I served it with whipped cream and roasted/chopped pecans. I think I'll bake the pecans into the pudding next time.

I watched this episode and coudn't wait to try the bread pudding. I found two recipes on the website that were almost identical, but made the one from the actual show I watched. It called for 2 Tablespoons of Almond extract and when it was done, all you could taste was almond. It was awful! I notced that the other recipe for the same recipe only called for 1 teaspoon of almond extract and I'm sure made this way, it would be just fine!

Me and my family really enjoyed cholate bread pudding. I was wondering what you would leave out if you did not want it to be a cholate bread pudding. If any has a recipe for a regular bread pudding please email it to me at rmcghee@bellsouth.net

My little sister came home from Iraq,( she is a marineand began to watch the food network. I had never seen the show until my sister told me about this incredible woman named Paula Deen. Erin had made the "not your mothers bananna pudding" it was the best. I had started watching religiously and I made the chocolate bread pudding it was as good if not better than the banana pudding!!! Thank you Erin and Paula.

I used croissants (which I let dry out from Costco instead of french bread. Served it with the cream and a premium vanilla gelato (Bertos AND whipped cream. OMG to die for. This is my family's favorite dessert.
