This was delicious but the chocolate chips could be omited. I didn't use almond at all and used weak coffee instead of liquer and it was tasty!

This was delicious! I'm glad I read the advice of previous reviewers who noticed the insane amount of almond extract the recipe called for. I consulted my Paula Deen Cookbook also and even reduced the amount of extract to 1 1/2 tsp. It was still a strong almond flavor. I can't imagine it with 2 Tbsp.Yech!!! Here is what I changed-Didn't realize I was out of almond extract so used all vanilla. Used Godiva chocolate liquore.
I actually halved the recipe this time, because I didn't want left over bread pudding sitting around for days (wasn't sure if my family would like it, they did! Next time I might used white cocolate chips and semi-sweet, chocolate X4!

This bread pudding has good texture but the almond extract is all we could taste. I used just over 1 T. of extract and it still was too much. A couple teaspoons of almond extract should be plenty.

This bread pudding with the cream recipe will just make your eyes roll in the back of your head!
I made this for a dinner birthday party for the adults. EVERYONE was just floored by how good it was.
The kid's had ice cream but opted not to have it in order to also have some of the Choc. bread pudding. You know it has to be good for kid's to give up ice cream cone and sprinkles.
This was wonderful hot, warm and even cold.
You also just have to make the cream recipe to go along with this.
