Very rich and chocolatey. Fantastic served warm with a dallop of vanilla ice cream and a squiggle of caramel sauce.

I've made this recipe about three or four times now because its always a hit, but there are a few things I've noticed guarantee that it comes out well. First, use a soft bread-- nothing too crusty, or the pudding comes out way to crunchy-- not too appetizing! Second, let the bread get a little stale. It actually makes the pudding much more cohesive and flavored all the way through. I usually buy the bread two days before (french bread goes stale pretty quicklyand it makes all the difference. Also, I've never used the almond extract or whatever, and it seems like that was a good call. When I follow these steps, it always comes out amazing. You'll be surprised how popular it is-- and how popular you are when you bring it with you!

I made this for my sister's birthday-- and everyone LOVED it. It's definitely a keeper. I served it with the cream sauce, but put in carmel sauce (like the kind you put on ice cream instead of Bailey's. Yum Yum Yum. Next time I think I'll try it with Kaluha.

I have been looking for a great bread pudding and being a chocolate lover, this is it. The Ultimate.

So rich and delicious! Taking the advice of previous reviews, I cut the almond extract in half. I also chose to cut the coffee liqueuer in half as well. We loved this desert and I'll definitely make it again!

I was very excited when I saw Paula make this on her show, but was disappointed when I made it myself. I love chocolate, but this bread pudding was unappetizing. The almond extract gave it a very strong, bitter taste.

I love anything chocolate and, after watching Paula fix this on air, I couldn't stop thinking about it. So, I fixed it yesterday and boy was I ever let down and disappointed. I just did not like this at all!! The cream sauce was delicious, but the pudding was really gross. After reading other reviews, it appears that maybe the almond extract was the culprit here. I guess I'll try it one more time and omit the almond extract and keep my fingers crossed.

These were so good! I am 13, I made these all by myself! My mom and stepdad sides loved it! I suggest using 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract instead of 2! Enjoy!

OMG. This was such a big hit on Christmas that it is now expected year after year. Thank you Paula for the start of another family tradition!
