Just when I think Mrs. D can't get any more awesome, she seems to manage it! I made these for Christmas presents, and quick breads don't come any better...or easier. Almost as easy as a mix. Just dump everything in the mixer, and...voila!

A note to Bellwoodsinger: I use Pam brand Baking Spray and the loaves come out like magic. I also used metal loaf pans. The one time I used glass, they were so tender they broke apart.

Our friends came back to us to get the recipe and to compliment us. Thanks, Paula, once agin!

This was wonderful microwaved for a few seconds with a little butter slathered on top (I'm sure Paula would approve - LOL! I also used walnuts instead of pecans, since they were handier and dusted them with flour along with the chocolate chips - no problems there! However, I didn't think it tasted like a big brownie - my brownies are a lot sweeter and chewier. I used the whole cup of oil, which did produce a fairly thin batter, but it baked up just fine. Instead of 2 regular loaf pans, I used two mini-loaf baking sheets, which made 16 mini-loaves, and then cut the baking time down to just over 20 minutes. The inside was done and the crust was not too brown, so this also worked out well. Gave several loaves out to friends and they raved about them, so this is definitely a "keeper" recipe!

OH MY GOSH this was delicious. The only problem I had was getting it out of the pan. Not sure what I did wrong. I followed the directions completely but the bottom still stuck to the pan. So, instead of giving the loaves away for Christmas, my husband and I get to eat them. LOL Good enough to try again for sure.

I'm in heaven!!! I've made this twice. This first time I made it I forgot the oil but it turned out, just crumbly. It was great as a topping on ice cream. When I made it the second time I used all of the ingredients (haha and it was great. I used walnuts instead of pecans and toasted them first. I used glass loaf pans so I cut back a little bit on the temperature and they came out fine with that nice "brownie crust" that everyone fights for. My husband's family gobbled them up. This recipe is a keeper.

Sure does remind me of having a brownie! I had read a few reviews stating that they had trouble with the batter being to runny so I thought that using 1 cup of oil was way to much so I halved it to 1/2c of oil. I had no problem with the bread other than I could taste salt so next time I will cut the salt down too. I served this bread to one of my friends and she enjoyed it as well. I used milk chocolate chips as this was what I had on hand and omitted the nuts cause I don't like nuts in breads.

I loved it. I dusted my MILK chocolate chips and walnuts with flour and that helped. I also mashed up bananas. It was wonderful!!

The bread turned out delicious! I didn't have an issue with the nuts and chocolate chips. They mixed in the bread beautifully. I toasted the pecans which made the bread even more tasty. The only problem I had with the bread was that it was a little chewy on the edges. I may have overcooked it by a few minutes. I will definitely made it again!
