I have been a loyal fluff-fudge maker for several years running, but decided to try something new this year. People could not stop talking about how great this recipe came out, and NO ONE believed that it had Velveeta in it!! We made 6 batches for the holidays after so many people asked for it!

My only recommendations would be to definitely sift the sugar, or you get lumps, and listen to the instructions and pat the top of the fudge. It was GREAT!!!

Since I have had chocolate cheese from a cheese shop in Wisconsin (which was out of this world, I think my anticipation for this was greater than what I actually got. While it is decent fudge, I think that I have made and have received better. I truly feel the whole ?thing? about this fudge is that it is made with Velveeta. A pro to this recipe is that it easy to make. A con is that when it does set up and if you did miss getting the excess butter off, it will leave a ?butter residue? on the fudge. Overall, I didn?t dislike the fudge. One piece though would be all that you probably would want. I probably will not be making this again. The fudge recipe on the back of a marshmallow cream jar is better. I didn?t hate it and I didn?t love it, but one time is enough for me.

My family loves fudge and my husband loves Paula Deen even more so I made this for Christmas as a surprise.

I agree 100% with Kriston from Louisville, KY - she took the words right out of my mouth.

"I trust nearly all of Paula Deen's recipes, so I figured I'd give this a try, especially based on the positive reviews. I'll be honest, this fudge wasn't at all gross, didn't taste of cheese and has a great texture. HOWEVER, it isn't great tasting and to me at least, there was a very, very subtle but strange taste to it. I don't know if only I noticed it because I knew it was a different fudge recipe or what, but it was a bit strange. I won't be making this particular fudge again but if you aren't afraid to give this a try and don't have much time, go for it. It's not gross but it's not the best you've eaten."

After reading several reviews I set out to solve some of the more frequently noted problems; i.e, too greasy, taste of cheese. To address the first I reduced butter to 14 T., rather than 16 and in an effort to counter any "cheesy" taste I used Hershey'd Rich, Dark cocoa. I melted the cheese and butter in a large bowl in my microwave, starting with 1 min. then 30 sec bursts, until it was melted. It looked funky, but worked just fine. I toasted the walnuts then poured the cheese mixture, vanilla and nuts into the powdered sugar mix, which I had mixed in the large bowl of my heavy duty stand mixer. Within two minutes it was well mixed, a minute or two of hand kneading and it was ready to press into my plastic wrap lined pan. No puddles of butter, a nice rich chocolate flavor I will absolutely make it again and again!

What a great recipe! It's a total no-brainer. I jazzed mine up a bit by drizzling white chocolate after cutting in squares with my crinkle cutter. Paula, you've done it again!
*Don't tell "squeamish" people about the Velveeta until after they've tasted; they won't believe you!

What fun it was to share with co-workers after they tasted it.. It's made with cheese. Too much fun. I love the creaminess, and it was easy.
    Thanks Paula!

The first batch came out ok but tasting way too much like velveeta to me. It set fine and the kids I made it for liked it ok. But the Rachel Ray recipe we used last your was more successful and much easier. The second batch separated and I had to sift the butter off til we had fudge. The sifting was just too much work in an hour I sifted 4 lbs because of my double batch plus the coco and it flew everywhere. Again it tastes like velveeta. Not making this again.
