I was so looking forward to making these. My grandma used to make potato candy when I was young and no one in the family has the recipe anymore. I was hoping these would be close. I have to say I am very disappointed and have to agree with others. The mixture was extremely runny, never set up, and I ended up throwing the whole thing away. Please would someone let us know what we did wrong? Until then, I would not waste the money and time on these if I were you.

Followed the recipe and as soon as I combined the sugar to the potatoes, the mixture turned runny and somewhat curdled. Is there a specific type of potato to use? should the butter be hard or slightly softened?

These were so easy to make. The kids loved to help. We have five little ones that got a kick out of the eggs.

As soon as I added the confectioner's sugar to the mashed potatoes, the consistency turned really runny. I put it in the refrigerator overnight and it was still very runny in the morning. I thought I made a mistake, so I did the whole process over again and as soon as I added the sugar, it immediately turned to liquid. There must be a chemical reaction between the potatoes and sugar. This was an easter project wtih my children so are all very disappointed. I would love to know what is going wrong!

I love your show, Paula! I reduced confectioners' sugar to 1 box because I did not want the filling to be too sweet. However, the filling was not solid enough for me to make the egg shape neat. Also I have problems to make them come neat from chocolate dip. So I did not get good eggs... but still I got something covered with chocolate. My son loved the chocolate, but not so much with the filling.

So, I'm in the process of making these...I just put them in the fridge. They seem really runny...will it harden up or did I do something wrong??
