This recipe is easy and it was a delight doing it. The only thing I changed was I added semi sweet chocolate morsels between the layers and the top was with cream and some more morsels. Made it even more chocolaty. I'm not a fan of pecans, hence more chocolate. Fabulous

I made this dessert in individual decorative glasses and my family loved it! I sprinkled some hershey's chocolate sundae sauce on top and "Viola" Instant success. They loved it so much that I made it again the next week! I put pudding in first then whipped cream, then cake and repeated again and and ended with my choc syrup design. Next time I will garnish with strawberries.

Add more whipped cream. To save fat/calories I used fat free whipped cream and then skim milk in the pudding. To save money, I used walnuts instead of pecans. Fantastic.

I tried this over the weekend and it was a big hit. I was worried that it would be tooooo sweet, but it was just perfect. Even my husband liked it and asked for seconds, and he's not into chocolate desserts. The kids raved about it! I served it with fresh strawberries. Easy and inexpensive!
Thanks Paula!

I made this trifle with a leftover birthday cake, it worked really well. Replaced the whipped cream with cool whip because only thing we had on hand, and replaced pecans with walnuts.. which I prefer. The cake already had been frosted so I omitted the chocolate fudge sauce. Big hit! :

My Mom is in a nursing home and two of my friends, who also have parents there, and I made lunch for their caregivers today. I honestly think that someone cleaned out the trifle bowl with their finger. This is a great, easy recipe. I will definitely be using again. Thanks Paula for a delicious dessert that was so easy to make. (and yes, homemade whipped cream is so much better - you have made a believer out of me.

I made this for my dinner guest tonight and she loved it! I thought it was going to be too sweet but it was surprisingly light. A nice change of pace when you're sick of the typical pound cake with fruit triffle. Next time, I'm going to change it up by using different flavors of cake mix and pudding. (Like chocolate fudge cake with peppermint pudding and crush up peppermint chocolate candies in there. The possibilities are endless.....go crazy y'all!

Very easy to make! I had left overs because my bowl wouldnt hold all of it so I made two..one to take to a party and one to keep for my family. Very creamy and light tasting. Thanks for a great recipe!

I made this dessert for my dad while visiting his home, and instead of using chopped pecans, because him and my husband don't care for them, I used coarsely crushed Oreo cookies. It was WONDERFUL! My father, husband, step mother and myself LOVED IT. Careful how much you put in your bowl though, it's VERY decadent. Chocolate lover's DREAM! Thanks Paula!
