Is a wonderful, tasty dish. Great combo of savory & sweet. Will make it again.

Absolutely amazing! Made it over the weekend for my daughter=in-law's birthday. Everyone loved it and finished it all off.

OMG talk about a fiesta of flavours in my mouth. Muchas Gracias, Paula Deen. This was so good, that I should've made double of everything.

This was wonderful! The steak was tender and juicy. The flavor was unbelievable and the pineapple salsa complimented it perfectly. My family really liked it, even my 10 year old daughter, who is a picky eater, loved it. Definitely making it again.

Not sure if I used the wrong type of meat or marinated it too long, but this was just not good. I was so looking forward to making a "different" kind of steak dish and this was really gross. I was so disgusted that I lost my appetite for anthing else. Desperate to salvage 2 lbs of meat, I put it into the food processor, shredded it and added bbq sauce for bbq beef. Hope it tastes better like that.

This recipe was so easy. The flavors blended very well. Similar to a mole sauce. I did not have ancho chile powder so I used chipotle chili powder and it was wonderful. My husband is not a fan of flank steak and was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely make this recipe again. Paula, you are the best!

I just love all the flavors in this recipe. The cumin gives it that mexican food flavor. And the salsa is out of this world. The salsa would be great with chicken or even tortilla chips! If you want a different twist on steak, then definitely try it!

The steak just did not do it for me so it gets a thumbs down. If you must try it you may just want to marinade HALF of the steak...I wish I had!

However the salsa was an interestingly fantastic surprise that one is a keeper!

I followed the recipe for the flank steak exactly and marinated overnight It was yummy and super moist, but next time I am going to increase the amount of chili powder for a bit more heat.

For the Pineapple Salsa - I added two diced jalapeno peppers and a small diced tomato - again I like heat and the tomato added a bit more color. I would also suggest replacing the diced tomato with a diced red bell pepper. The pepper will add a bit more crunchy texture similar to the onion.

I know it sounds odd, but it was really good. I didn't really taste the chocolate very much, but the combination of the chili powder and the chocolate was a great duo. I grilled on the bbq, don't know if that would make a big difference. The pineapple salsa was good, but could use a little punch. Next time I would use some jalapeno pepper and more lime juice. Overall the salsa was still very good. Thank you Paula for a recipe to shake things up a bit.
