I love this cake recipe the only thing wrong with it is they left out the eggs I saw the show and knew they were there if you had a failure with the cake it was probably because you needed 3 eggs. also the frosting recipe calls for plain old canned milk-otherwise known as EVAPORATED OR CONDENCED milk.
you are using the wrong milk It is not sweened condenced milk. that is another thing altogether. when you follow these tips your cake will be great.

This is my first review ever- I had to write because the cake is so good! Next time I will only bake for 25 minutes so it is even moister!

The cake part itself was pretty good, but my icing came out grainy. I probably didn't boil the icing long enough for the sugar to melt completely.

...Fab cake! But you have to LOVE sweet and rich! Goes a long way because you only want a small amount. :

The recipe was very easy and moist. The frosting was too grainy for me. I added 1/4 cup less sugar and it was perfect

This was my very first homemade cake...i was a little nervous but it turned out to be one of the best chocolate cakes i have ever had!! (and believe me i've had a lot The only change i made was i left out the nuts and instead garnished with fresh sliced strawberries. Thank you Paula for making such easy and delicious recipes!! I just adore you!!

Cake does take longer than 30 minutes. I would consider this more of a brownie. Icing is grainy from crystalization. Did not have the good quality chocolate taste that I would have liked. I might make this again for kids as it doesn't seem as sweet as other cakes.
