    It was so-so. the brownie was an odd texture for a trifle. The chewyness doesn't really seem to work in trifle. My husband said he'd have preferred just pudding.

    I made this with "from scratch" chocolate pudding because I cannot abide that chemical taste of the instant pudding, and I made my whipped cream fresh, and it was delicious albeit very sweet. Everyone loved it.

    I made this for a pot luck and it was a smash hit. Everyone wanted the recipe! It was relatively easy to make and delicious, beautiful presentation. I put the coconut in, used Cool Whip instead of whipping cream and it was wonderful! Will definitely make again.

    I made this for an intimate sit down dinner with 4 couples. The taste overall was good. It is beautiful in appearance while in the trifle dish but looks horrible once everyone has scooped some on to their dish. The brownie is very tasty on its own. The pudding does have that artificial taste, so would be better made from scratch. I don't know if the whipped cream got too cold in the fridge or if I whipped it too long, but it had a curdled looked to it after it was scooped out of the dish. Anyway, I will definitely go with a different dessert choice in that type of setting next time & save the trifle for a larger crowd. My husband had no complaints, loved it!

    I can't wait to try this. I had to comment because when I was in my kitchen working on the "Lady and son's cheese biscuit's". I heard these moans an groans, coming from the T.V. In the livingroom ,which I had thought , "maybe my son put some racey movie on?" But oh no, it was just Paula Deen and her girls from the Lady and Son's thoroughly enjoying the Chocolate Trifle! LOL

    This recipe was great! I changed a few things. I didn't add the coconut or nuts as I wasn't sure if people would like that. I made a chocolate boxed mousse instead of the pudding. I just thought if I was making the brownie and whipping cream from scratch, that it would taste much better to have a light mousse rather than the heavy, artificial tasting pudding. I will definitely use the mousse again. It was great and people at the baby shower asked for the recipe.

    I have made this twice now. I subsitute the pudding with chocolate dream whip and I use cool whip. I don't use the Sherry. It is very easy to make and the dish was gone in one sitting.

    This is a fantastic recipe. Guests loved it and my husband was floored! I used instant pudding and everything else was the same. I will definitely make this again.

    Unbelievable! So easy and delicious. The brownie was so tasty on it's own that I'll make it again to eat by itself. The recipe makes alot so I didn't actually use all of the brownie or whipped cream. I followed the recipe exactly except that I used instant pudding instead of cooking it. Be warned, this is super sweet so a little goes a long way. It was a crowd pleaser for sure and I will make it again!
