I was a little confused on the recipe also. Thank goodness for these reviews! Someone knew how much sugar went into the dough. Thanks! These were great. I did not use any raisins or nuts. The kids would not like that. I also brushed a little melted butter on them after I put them in the pan to rise. I will definately be making these again.

I added 1/4 cup sugar to the dough.I made a mistake when I made the filling.I mixed the melted butter with the sugar ( I used 1 cup of brown sugar instead of the whiteraisins and pecans.I spread that mixture over the dough. It was awesome.I'll do it like that everytime.

Once I figured out that 1/2 cup sugar was needed for the dough. I was smooth sailing after that. Delicous.

Oh goodness! I should have read the reviews before getting to the sugar!!
It is Fathers day and I am hoping I do the right thing, but I believe I added too much. My dough is rising and it looks ok, but I added 3/4 of a cup hoping it was on the wrong line. I am sure way to much, but it is Paula. HAHA! Please let us know for next time! Thanks.

How much sugar goes into the dough? It's missing from the recipe.

I love all things Paula Deen, but this recipe let me down! I wanted to make these for Father's Day and was moving along through the recipe until I read "....egg, butter, sugar....". No where in the ingredients list does it tell you how much sugar to add to your basic dough. There's sugar for the filling and icing, but no sugar listed or an amount for the dough. An oversight I'm sure, but a critical one!
