    While the flavor was very good, the texture was grainy, not smooth like flan is supposed to be.

    Paula, thank you so much for your wonderful recipes, I can't tell you how many times my family has gone crazy tasting these treasures. This flan is no different, I followed your simple instructions and viola, the best flan ever, period.

    I'm a huge fan and always look forward to your show.

    like the other poster, i tried to carmelize the sugar and couldn't.

    Wow, I love flan and this was the best flan recipe I have ever tried. So easy, you can't go wrong. Thanks a bunch Paula, your recipes are always fantastic!

    I tried 4 different times to caramelize the sugar. I even went to the double broiler method. I gave up and put flan in pan w/out it. It was a very frustrating hour when Paula said it would only take a few minutes.
