I really liked this dish. It was a huge hit at my family's house for Thanksgiving. I will definitely be making this dish again. Thank you Food Network!

It was tasteful. I made everything like you instructed, except I took out the cheese and added sugar in the mix. Next time I will try the cheese in the mix, to see how that turns out.

I have made this several times, and it is a "keeper". I do not melt the cheese on top. I follow the rest of the recipe exactly except for cutting down a bit on the amount of butter. I serve it two ways
1. as a side dish for soup, chili, or pot roast
2. as a breakfast item...........I put a bit of maple syrup on top (this may resemble an old fashioned dish called JOHNNY CAKES.
Anyways, I love this........its so easy and soooooooooooooo good! Good enough to be a side dish at major holidays.........simple enough for everyday! Thanks Paula!

Made this post Thanksgiving to serve with turkey leftovers. It was spectacular. Everyone had seconds. I will cut back on the butter next time but I wanted to make the recipe once as written before adjusting. I will probably double it as well as it was a bit shallow in the dish and didn't have the visual appeal I was looking for. I goofed and stirred the cheddar in when I mixed it but I think it was better that way. Excellent dish.

I doubled the recipe, and cooked it a bit longer. I also added chopped jalapeno peppers, about a quarter cup. Love this recipe!

Awesome!! I add a bit of "vanilla-butter-nut" extract, shredded monterey jack and cheddar cheeses, diced, canned, drained jalepeno chilies, and cooked, crumbled bacon, ALL TO THE BATTER. Then after baking, I add a small amount of super fine sugar on top and brulee it with my torch. It's the whole package: sweet, salty, savory, spicy, PLUS total array of textures, then the beautuful brulee finale. Something for everyone, still inexpensive and easy yet impressive!! Thanks Paula and everyone...yummy to all tummies!!!

There's none better than Paula Deen recipes when it comes to good ole Thanksgiving comfort foods! This corn casserole became a family favorite year one that I made it. I give it 4 stars only because I really don't like the melted cheese on top. It's much better omitting it entirely or just blending some cheese into the mixture before baking it. This casserole saved the meal this year, as it rescued us from the boring canned vegetable sides of my mother in law!

I've always loved my mother's corn casserole, but this one is so much better! Will be making this again, and not just for Thanksgiving!
