This is a family staple for the holidays, so much so that when I said I was going to make potatoes instead I was greeted with mutiny by two nieces and a nephew - all in different households. Super simple to make and they think it actually took a while. I double the recipe and usually its all gone. I do half with cheese and half without to satisfy the different tastes.

Made this for thanksgiving last year and everyone loved it. I'll be making it again without the cheese this time. I don't think it's necessary and the flavors didn't blend well.

I hadn't watched the video and followed the recipe as it is printed... The recipe is wrong!! The video calls for a 1/2 stick of butter not a whole stick...
It's too late for me but hopefully it will turn out ok anyway...

Tried a test batch to prepare for Thanksgiving dinner this year and it turned out delicious. I used a little less than half a stick of unsalted butter, 3/4 cup of low fat sour cream and added about 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese into the mix. I also sauteed 1/3 of a large chopped brown onion and diced red bell peppers in a little bit of butter with salt and pepper to taste. It adds alot to the dish. Bacon would be a great addition too. I baked it in a 9x9 casserole dish and it was best when baked for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I'm sure it'll be a great hit at Thanksgiving! Thanks everyone for the reviews so that I could make my own little tweaks

This is the best and so easy to make. The cheese is not necessary if looking to shave off some of the heaviness of the dish.
A big crowd pleaser and has become one of my most requested dishes both at home and with friends. Easy to double and triple the recipe if needed and there are never left overs so don't worry about making too much.

I took this recipe and Bobby Flay'd it.
I followed the recipe except instead of regular sour cream I used sour cream with chives, and I added a diced orange bell pepper and 2 diced jalapenos. I was concerned about adding too much heat to it but it didn't turn out too spicy at all, just very flavorful. I will probably add more peppers next time.
It turned out great, I brought it to our company pot luck dinner, there was none left to take home, and I had people asking me for the recipe.

Very disapointing! Bland, it tasted like a stick of butter with cornmeal sprinkled on top.

This is one of my favorite recipes! I don't even add the cheese because the corn flavor itself is so good. I also use the whole box of Jiffy, which when I buy it always comes in 8.5 oz boxes instead of just 8. Love love love it!
