My cousin used to have a restaraunt and they made these as a dessert. They coated them with powdered sugar as soon as they came out of the fryer. The powdered sugar melts onto it and is like a glaze. It was delicious!

I made these corn fritters earlier tonight to go along with a fried fish and mac & cheese dinner and they were very well received. Like an earlier reviewer said I did find the batter to be a significantly looser than it appeared on the show making it quite impossible to shape the fritters as seen on TV. Still, with a little careful handling I was able to spoon them into the oil and still get reasonably good results. Not quite what I was expecting, but nothing that couldn't be managed.

Sprinkled them with a bit of salt fresh out of the fryer and they tasted very good. Definitely recommended.

This is the best corn fritters ever and they are NOT hushpuppies! Hushpuppies are made with onion and a dash of sage! Same basic recipe but without the corn. Add jalepenos to make them Texas style [either hushpuppies or corn fritters] and enjoy!!

THESE FRITTERS OR "HUSH PUPPIES" WERE A BIG HIT ON THANKSGIVING BUT I ADDED CHILI POWDER, GARLIC POWDER, A TAD BIT MORE SUGAR, AND SPINACH. THEY TASTE AMAZING!!

Mayra- You're correct! They are hush puppies! The point that people are trying to make is that the recipe is supposed to be for corn fritters...not hush puppies. There is a difference.

Corn Fritters should be made with creamed corn, to have the creamy center. Could be a good recipe if the title was changed to "Sweet Corn Hush Puppies".

I followed your instruction to the "T" but for some reason it didn;t work at all. The mixture turned out to be too loose, there was no way that the mixture could be spoonful into the deep fryer. I love corn and I am so disappointed with this.
