This dish is outstanding! The chili was so easy and I didn't change a thing. The waffles, after reading some reviews, were tweaked a tad. I used milk that I soured and added 2T extra of sugar. Also for some crunch I used polenta (corn grits with the cornmeal. 3/4 cornmeal and 1/2 cup polenta. I let it sit in my fridge for about an hour while I made the chili and let that simmer. Perfect! Thanks Paula!

I made the Waffles and not the chili. We had them for breakfast. Very filling. My husband and I each ate 2 corners. It made 4 full size Belgium Waffles. Perfect for eating and freezing for later in the week. This wouls also be great with a mixed berry syrup or other chunky style topping.

    Hey,

If you've never cooked Chili before, this is the way to go. This was my first dive into the world of chili and I must say... What a splash! I removed the beef for 100% Natural Ground Turkey (Butterball if anyone cares and used one can of Bushes Hot Chili beans because I couldnt find the ranch style beans and man this made one hardy Chili. I was concerned about it not being hot enough so I added two drops of Blair's Ultra Death Sauce to kick it up a notch. Came out amazing. I read the reviews on hjow the waffles came out bland so I opted in for classic Jiffy cornbread muffins to balence out the heat with some sweet. Perfect dinner / lunch for the next day! Thanks Paula!

This was my first time making chili. Not only was it is super easy but it took no time at all! This recipe was delicious with just the right amount of spice. I opted not to make the cornmeal waffles and substituted cornbread instead which was a great accompaniment to the spicy chili. I can't wait to make this again.!

I made the chili, but not the waffles, for a girls party at my house and everyone raved over it! I did'nt use the corn and instead of the ranch-style beans I used chili beans. This was the easiest chili to make and I will definitely have it again. I've already had 3 people call me for where to find the recipe. Yummy!!!

This is one of the best and easiest chili recipes. We needed a little more spice so we had to add some more chili powder. Great chili recipe that is fast and easy.

Chili is excellent and so easy to make. Waffles were a little bland, so now I just use a plain ol' Jiffy cornbread mix in the waffle iron. My husband loves it; especially with some chopped jalepeno in the cornbread.

Very easy to make and tastes great! Waffles are a different spin on the usual cornbread!

I just bought my first waffle iron and it is all Alton's fault. He recommended a waffle iron I had never seen before and then wouldn't you know it, I found one for 80% off at a store. I now can't stop making waffles- good thing they are freezable. This cornmeal waffle is my favorite! I love the crunch. It is the best of both worlds, crunchy like corn bread and soft and pancakey on the inside. I didn't want it with the chili so I added a bit more sugar. I'm actually eating one right now.

The chili in this recipe was fast and easy to make, and it tasted wonderful. I never made the waffles and instead put the chili over biscuits. It was an awesome, fast dinner the whole family enjoyed.
