Excellent for family, potlucks...anything. I did leave out the bananas and used cashews. It was great, even all my grandchildren who don't like peas didn't seem to notice they were even in there! I have sent this to many of my friends and family and they are all loving it! Thanks Paula, you are the best!

I enjoyed the layered salad, it reminded me of my grandmother's version. It is perfect for a make ahead take along salad dish. I didn't give it the highest rating, because I found the bananas a little overpowering, and despite the directions, they turned brown. I would use them again, but maybe 1/2 to 1/4 the called for amount.

My family questioned me when I told them banana's were in the salad, but one taste turned them around!

We love this salad, it will become a tradition for the 4th of July.

This layered salad is fantastic! I've made it for several family and social gatherings and I'm always asked for the recipe. It's definetly best if you follow the directions and let it chill for several hours. I finely chop the chestnuts and increase the nuts (I use pecans and cheese a bit. Wow, great salad! We love Paula at our house!
Everthing I've ever made of Paula's has been a hit!

I made this dish for a family function. I was a little concerned about the odd mix of ingredients. BUT everyone raved over it! PLUS it a really easy dish!

a great salad that features your typical salad ingredients with a blend of fruit and nuts. I made this for a party and it was a big hit! I would definately make it again!

Wonderful take along for something different. It's pretty and really tastes wonderful. Most people are surprised at the combination especially bananas.

I'm glad I watched the episode that had this salad in it. The first time I made it, it was missing six ingredients and it still was a hit! I substitute cucumber for the water chesnuts and on the rare occasions that there is leftovers it hods up great for the following day's lunch.

Neither me or my husband liked this salad. We found the taste bland.
