This recipe was not for me. The amount of mayonnaise used was a bit intimidating for me, but I went ahead and made it anyway. My husband did not like it at all, though he ate one serving of it, picked out the water chesnuts and was done. I will not make this again. Sorry, Paula

This was a wonderful uplift to the regular traditional salad. I took this to a get together and everyone at the the party loved it! The bananas were a surprise to everyone. No one thought it went together before they tried it!

My son and I made this together. It was great. My whole family really enjoyed this. We made this for Christmas. We did leave a couple of things out that some of us did not like. We left out the raisins and the bananas.

You would think with all this mish mash of ingredients this would taste weird. Not so! It was the yummiest salad I've ever had. The kids, who aren't overly fond of anything with "salad" in its title, scarfed it up within 2 days. The leftovers in the fridge didn't even have a chance to chill before they were taken out again & devoured. Double the recipe for your next potluck & I'll guarantee you'll be taking home a clean pan.

I personally loved the salad even with the bananas. Unfortunately, my family could not get passed the bananas. I found piles of them on the empty plates. I think next time I will substitute Granny Smith or Gala apples for the bananas. Also, I found the prep time to be a lot longer than 20 minutes. Maybe I'm just slow. It was good and I will definetly try it again.

I saw Paula make this and thought, hemmmmm, interesting but not sure. Layered salad is always a hit at our monthly church pitch-ins and I like to try something new so I made it. Used only 1 can of water chestnuts (cut up, 2 cups of cheese, white wine vinegar, pepper to the dressing, white and green parts of green onion, and let it sit overnight. Very good. Good reviews at the picnic today, but still not sure if I like the banana in it. Weird.

I made this salad after watching Paula create it. I did not have the recipe and followed what I thought she did and it worked!
It was quick, easy and our kids loved it!
