I tried this recipe along with the Salmon Burgers. The salmon burgers were deliciousnd, but this coleslaw was a dissapointment. It was "flat" tasting, bombed out in my house!! Sorry, Paula

Really enjoyed the flavors of this recipe. Corn was a perfect addition. Adding cilantro just seems to make it more fresh. Delicious.....will keep this recipe for sure. It is terrific on BBQ pork sliders!!!

I don't like "normal" coleslaw, but I had half a purple cabbage to use up. Since it was just my husband and I, I halved most of the recipe. HALF OF THIS RECIPE FILLS A 1.5 - 2 QUART BOWL.
I dropped the green cabbage, kept both carrots, and use 3 ears of fresh, uncooked corn. I used only 1/4 onion. Also, I didn't have ground cumin so I used cumin seeds. I liked the seeds, because the flavor pops in your mouth every other bite or so. Also, I had no garlic powder, so I used one small minced garlic clove. I dropped the mayo to just over 1/2 cup; I made the dressing as per the recipe, but only used half of it.
I truly don't understand why they give you a recipe for so much seasoning mix. Yes, it will keep but I have made countless "dressings" in large batches, only to throw them away. And this is so easy--wouldn't you want fresh pepper in it? I used teaspoon salt, 1/4 tsp pepper and 1/4 teaspoon garlic. I had a smidge left over, so I just threw it on top of the slaw.

This was excellent and great for summer days. A change to the regular cole slaw's. BUT FYI: the 1 cup of salt, it's to make a bunch in advance of Paula's HOUSE SEASONING. You make it in advance (or use your own seasoning of even Emeril's and for this recipe you use only 1 tsp of the mix. Hope this helps and no one is using a cup of salt in this recipe!

Very Good. I think it made way more than 4 servings though! I did not have the purple cabbage so I just used a whole head of green. Added a little cilantro to the slaw and ommitted the corn. Ended up topping a burger with it and eating it on the side. Very yummy and easy to make to your liking. I used light mayo and still came out good! Also, next day the slaw was even better.

Really? Did you really think it called for a cup of salt? The recipe clearly says 1 TSP (yes, teaspoon of House Seasoning. The recipe she listed separately is to use over and over again, not just for this one recipe. Make it and save it for later, all accept that 1 tsp you use for this recipe and 1 tsp only.

The 1 cup of salt + 1/4 cup black pepper + 1/4 garlic powder is a SEASONING MIX - the recipe calls for one teaspoon - no doubt it was salty!
