Decided to try these with Paula's meatloaf. They are easy, with ingredients you have on hand. I never would have put cottage cheese in a potato recipe. But, I'm glad that Paula Deen did! These potatoes are so fluffy and yummy! I put the chopped onion in a frying pan with just a small amount of butter and some water. Just until they were a bit clear. I don't like onion that isn't pretty well cooked. I noticed that quite a few reviews mentioned crunchy onion. Also added some shredded cheddar on top. Turned the broiler on for just a minute to brown the top. These are the best potatoes that I have ever had! These potatoes and the meatloaf will be served on a regular basis @ our house! Very impressive and so easy! Thanks Paula! You have gotten me out of the"same old thing" rut!

Very good change. Made as directed, but will be more creative as time goes on.

My family loves mashed potatoes, but sometimes we want something a little different. These Cottage Potatoes are a big hit with the family.

I have made these potatoes twice and my husband and I love them!!! the first time I followed the recipe, but the second time I couldn't resist adding some shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon! I don't understand the complaints about blandness because the onion adds a really nice flavor, sort of like potatoes au gratin! This is better than boxed potatoes any night!

So easy to make. I did however saute the onions before adding to the mashed potatoes. This is a definite keeper!!
