Tried making these and my husband and I loved them. I was hesitant as well after reading the reviews but we love Paula so we figured we couldn't go wrong. We followed the recipe exactly. I didn't have any problems like other people did. I didn't get smoked out of my kitchen. I didn't have fumes at all. No problems grilling. The turkey legs turned out very flavorful and moist. Not dry one bit. It had a spicy kick to it. My husband is from the south and loved the spice. I on the other hand am from the northwest and can't normal stand eating spice but was pleasantly suprised by it and ate my entire turkey leg and loved it. Doesn't quite tasted liked the ones at the fair that are smoked but were very tasty.

These were OK, but only County Fair quality and not State Fair quality. I cut all of the pepper additions back by 1/2 and these legs still reminded me of hot wings in heat intensity. The parboil really reduced the turkey flavor and promoted a drier product. I would prefer to brine the legs, smoke and then finish over hot coals to crisp.

This is a good recipe. Yes it does get smokey so have ventilation. Make sure the boil is low before you put in the legs and then boil over a medium heat for no longer then 30 minutes or until internal temp is around 165. I've made 8 and 6 legs before boil 3 onions with the other stuff and use the boiled onions as a bed while you grill the turkey legs. Watch closely and you should get the desired result. Yum I've meade it twice this way.

I have made these turkey legs about 6 times now and I love them everytime. While boiling them it does create crazy fumes that make me cough, but they are worth it. The only change I make is, like another reviewer stated, adding soy sauce, garlic, and ginger to the basting sauce.

I used the recipe the same way, except I used 1 tablespoon of the crushed red pepper, and instead of honey, I used light corn syrup. My kids don't like honey, so the corn syrup was the perfect substitute! And I ony used 3/4 cup corn syrup.

Also, one of my children doesn't like turkey legs, so I substituted chicken leg quarters, which worked out well. They gobbled every bit of it down, and so did I!

This recipe was simple ans turned out great, if you like spicy you will love this. I am not a big soda fan, needless to say I had no soda, but used most of the seasonings and added a few more. I did make the house seasoning and based the turkey leg while on the grill, that gave it the color and sealed the taste. If you don't like spicy, you may want to change some of the seasoning, but the cooking directions worked for me, hope you enjoy as much as I did.

I was really excited about trying this recipe because I love fair turkey legs. I did not add or omit anything. The turkey legs were rubbery and peppery. The honey was a disaster and over all bland. I hate wasting food but I had to throw out the turkey legs out because they were just plain nasty which made me more pissed because I hate wasting food. DO NOT TRY THIS ONE AT HOME!

I followed this recipe to the letter, and they were so good!!! My husband wants them at least once a month. He said, "They taste so good they make your tongue wanna slap your brains out!"

He's already planning a cookout and serving these. They aren't for people who don't like spicy foods, because they're hot allthe way to the bone. But if your family or guests like hot stuff, these are gold!

    And they're so easy!!!
