My son is home from college for the summer and all of a sudden, is interested in learning how to cook. (not sure of his motivation, but I think it may because he is moving off campus this upcoming semester and doesn't want to eat ramen noodles everyday OR he thinks this may be the way to impress the ladies ... Anyway, we were watching Paula when she made this cheesecake and he wanted to try making it. He 'convinced' his 16 year old sister into helping him and together they did it all! It turned out wonderful - and the review from my son was that it was 'Epic!' If he can make it - anyone can. Unfortunately, there was one crack in the top - but it was covered by the apple/caramel topping so no one knew any better. We wouldn't have known had not my son told on himself... This cheesecake will definitely be added to the family cookbook!

This came out perfect, no cracks, easy to make and impressive presentation! I also added the pecans at the end and it couldnt have been better! I will definitely be making this recipe again and again! It can't be said enough, if you don't like cheesecake, which is typically sweet and very rich, make an Angel Cake! This recipe is exactly what it's supposed to be - GREAT! Thanks Johnnie & Paula!

I made this for Sunday dinner and everyone loved it!! I agree with Deborah, drain the apples before you put them back into the caramel sauce, because it does make it to running if you don't. The only thing I would do different is, I'd make a double batch of the caramel sauce, put half on the top of the cheesecake and the other half if people wanted extra on the side:

This is an excellent recipe. Creamy and rich. I am going to make this my new "go to" recipe from now on and switch up toppings once in a while. The only thing I did different was to put my pecans in after the caramel cooked. The sauce alone would be good on ice cream! Give this recipe a try....thanks Paula!!

Saw this recipe on television and mad it that day! The only suggestion I would make would be to drain the cooked apples before you stir them back into the
topping. The first time I made it, I didn't do this which added too much liquid back into the filling, making it a little runny. Since I had enough ingredients, I tried it again, this time draining the apples.....perfect! We did use the first batch as syrup on french toast and it was yummy. I did not spread the topping over the cheesecake, served it on individual pieces. Nice presentation.

I made this recipe. However I only made the crust and the filling, my family does not care for anything too sweet, this was enjoyed by all, and was special, to my family. They loved it.

The finished product looks good, but this cheesecake is so rich and sweet I couldn't get past it. It is very expensive to make and something that I wouldn't waste my time/money/calories on again.
