I had never made crab cakes before - this was easy and tasted like restaurant quality.

I have made these crab cakes several times and have never been dissapointed. I even made them as an appetizer for a party (I just made them about 1/3 the sizeand everyone loved them and asked for the recipe. The little extra effort it takes to make these crab cakes is worth every bite. Since there is just my husband and myself now I make the whole recipe and freeze what I don't cook. They turn out awesome even after they have been frozen. Making them ahead of time does not change the great taste or texture. I look forward to trying more of Paula's recipes.

Although my parents loved this dish, the crab cakes were too rich for my brothers and the dill sauce much too strong...plus the cakes fell apart. The dish had potential, with some tweaking I may attempt again.

These were very tasty and easy to make. The Lemon-Dill Sauce is great and also good on salmon.

I am a Paula devotee but I have to say this is the first of her recipes I've made that I wouldn't give 5 stars to. It was good and it was easy but I don't think it tastes yummy enough to warrant the expense. I did like the lemon dill sauce though and I will make that again and again. Not the crab cakes though. Sorry Paula, this one needs tweaking.

they were excellent. require a lot of prep work. We had a big crowd and everyone got one. Next time, I'll make for a more intimate crowd

My husband and I agree that these crab cakes are the best we have ever had. The sauce is also wonderful, and goes perfectly with the crab cakes. Every bite is chock full of crab meat! No fishy flavors or a mouthful of bread crumbs.
I was a little scared they were doomed to fall apart after I mixed it all up, it seemed like ALOT of crab and not much filler to hold it together. I made sure to wet my hands when I made the patties, this seemed to help. I also put them in the frisge for 4 hours which firmed them up nicely.

These were truly delicious. Don't hesitate to make these and don't waste your time looking any further for another recipe. I didn't make the dill sauce but I can only imagine how good it is and I will def. make it next time.
