After a hard day working in the yard I wanted a quick BUT very uplifting meal, remembering I had two really nice portobello mushrooms in the fridge and new it would be a very healthy fulfilling meal. Seeing as I didn't have any crab meat on hand I substituted it with oysters instead. I had to add some extra bread crumbs as the oysters were very wet,( I also incorporate the crumbs into the mixture and save some to make a nice topping. I really like Pecorino Romano so I always use it instead of the Parmesan, and I used about 1/4 a cup, I drizzled my tops with Olive Oil instead of the cooking spray and they cooked up very nicely. As far as the negative remarks on the reviews, all I can say is these folks mustn't be able to read directions very well, I mean COMMON sense is all you really need, and if you cook at all you know what goes well together and what doesn't, BUT for a first time cook (if you are this is a VERY user friendly recipe and the taste is OUTSTANDING!

I made these stuffed mushrooms per this recipe EXACTLY and they were aweful! Very, very bland! I ate a piece of one and the out the rest! YUK!!! The only reason I gave it one star is that it wouldn't let me post my review with no stars!

These are perfect and for thoes who say it's blan or can't read the seasoning mix is used in alot of paula's dishes think of it as the essence that emerald uses all the time you make up a large batch at store it and use a little at a time. I make a simular mix but use white pepper and also add onion powder. Everything in this dish can be ate cold so TRY it BEFORE you bake it add more seasoning if blan.

Made these for Christmas Eve treat (tonight and I actually followed Linzylu's suggestions, a few reviews before mine. Sauteed garlic and onion in a little butter first and also the minced up stems (I don't like wasting....and I love mushrooms. I read through Paula's recipe and it seemed like it might be a little bland for $17 bucks worth of crab. LOL After I read Linzylu's tweaking of the recipe I went with that and they are delicious!! I'll make them again! Thanks Linzy!

These mushrooms were delicious and FYI, the salt pepper and garlic powder recipe is for the House Seasoning alone, not the stuffed mushroom recipe. Didn't you see that the instructions were that the seasonings can be stored up to 6 months? Not poorly written, just poorly read.

This recipe is very poorly written. Why is combining garlic powder, salt and pepper a separate recipe? Couldn't these just be added during prep? Having them sit in the fridge does not add anything to them and if you season to taste your left with a big bowl of bland seasoning and if you use it all you are left with inedible garbage. This recipe is a good way to add pounds and waste perfectly good crab and mushrooms. Very uncreative and bland. Highly disappointed.

Loved them I added spinach also. The only thing I will change for next time is I will try adding brad crumbs to the mix instead of just putting on top.
