I was so excited about making these but was very dissapointed =( I followed the recipe exactly, even though most reviews here say they added a little of this subtracted a little of that, but I felt that i should follow first and tweak later, not sure I will make these. I really feel like the mushrooms should have been marinated in something, they were washed of course but there was almost no taste to these at all, which is unfortunate cuz I had talked them up before serving! I'm going to search around for another stuffed mushroom recipe

I read the reviews before making this and I was concerned the dish would be bland. Following the advice from the reviews I added 1 Tbs mayo and I sauteed the mushrooms - that is the only changes that I made. If you make the house seasoning and season to taste, they are not bland. These were delicious and I will definately make them again. Paula, we love you!

Made this for Thanksgiving- the only tweak on this recipe I did was to use a monterey jack/mozzarella cheese blend instead of parmesan which made the texture more gooey which I like. Don't forget the house blend or even the green onion, bread crumbs or italian parsley, it's all important. My husband (who is quite picky dispite only being an eater rather than the cooker if you get my drift loved it. My brother-in-law told me it was the best appetizer that he has ever had and I have to agree! It's a show-stopper so your meal to follow had better not let everyone else down after this one... I will continue making this as long as I live.

I have made these over and over and over again. Instead of using regular cream cheese, I use the CHIVE & ONION flavored cream cheese and it adds that extra bit of flavor. This might help out those who think this recipe is "bland".

I tried this recipe yesterday. It was a big hit with my boyfriend. Took some to my dad, turned out my Aunt got on here and made the same recipe .

I make these mushrooms every holiday. They were a hit from the very start! I noticed some of the reviews say they are bland. If you season to taste, I promise they will be awesome!!! Everyone will be asking for more!

I wanted to make a crab appetizer and this had such great reviews-I don't know how-I served them at a dinner party for 20 and doubled the recipe-they were bland and had absolutely no taste..In looking over the ingredients, I should have realized. Maybe it needs some tabasco or seasoning to spice it up

I have made this recipe multiple times, the first few times it was a bit dry. So I added 1/3 cup of shredded MONTEREY JACK CHEESE, 2 TBSP of Hidden valley RANCH, and 2 TBSP of MAYO to the stuffing. For the topping I added some parmesan cheese to the bread crumbs. I also cooked the stuffed mushrooms for 10 minutes @ 400 degrees, so the mushroom and stuffing could cook a bit more. The stuffed mushrooms turned out really moist and had a lot more flavor to it. Everyone that ate it thought it taste better than the original recipe. You should try it.
