I made a few alterations to the recipe. First, I used 1 package of cranberry flavored Jell-o and 1 package of raspberry flavored Jell-o instead of 2 raspberry. I increased the amount of walnuts to app. 1 C and added these broken halves to the jell-o mixture. Then, I made it in a short trifle dish and once set, layered the cream cheese mixture on top. To add some sparkle, I used colored sugar (red and green for Christmas crystals on top of the cream cheese mixture (next time I might try the clear/silver ones and not only was this pretty and easy to serve in the bowl...it was marvelous! A new holiday staple at our house :-

I admit we have always been food snobs and a gelatin salad as seen in the supermarket would never make it into our house. I made this recipe as a "joke" and this joke was on me.

Not only did I love it but the entire family loved this as well. We said dumbfounded how could we not know about this sooner. You have to make the recipe as written it is VERY good.

I'm now a believer in Gelatin Salad.

We absolutely loved the salad! I wish I had made it a day ahead, because I didn't give it enough time to fully set up. Although, this didn't detract from the wonderful flavor! Thanks Paula!

My aunt made this for Thanksgiving, and it was so yummy. I am adding it to my recipe box!

I saw Paula make this and INSTANTLY saved it to my recipe box..... knowing I would make it for Thanksgiving. One note though: Make sure you give it PLENTY of time to set up. ; But anyway..... HUGE HIT will the entire family. It's a great twist on the usually plain 'ol cranberry sauce.

I will make it EVERY thanksgiving!!

I served this last weekend when we had friends over for an early Thanksgiving dinner and they loved it. I have had to give the recipe to a couple of them. I made it without the nuts as one of my guests can't have nuts, but can't wait to try it with nuts. I also used sugar-free gelatin to take a few calories out.

This is almost like the recipe my Grandmother made at Thanksgiving, except she would use 2 boxes of grape jell-oI have tried both recipes and both are good. But Grandma's still wins out....

This is the first thing with cranberries in it my 10 year old son will eat. He loves this jello salad. I add mandarin oranges to it and it tastes great. I have never made the topping, I just serve whipped cream with it. I love to have it for breakfast.

substitute a bag of thawed frozen strawberries for the cranberry and use strawberry jello. It's just fantastic.
